An up-and-coming neighbourhood with period properties, in close proximity to some of the best-loved areas of north London
You’d be forgiven for not knowing the residential benefits of Holloway; for many years the area was notorious for its women's prison, but these days Holloway is looked at as an up-and-coming neighbourhood, just four miles from Central London and in close proximity to some of London’s most sought after zones – namely Highbury and Islington. The development of Arsenal football club’s stadium has pumped money into the area, enabling regeneration and attractive development within the community.
Aside from the busy main road, home to vintage furniture shops and restaurants including Sambal Shiok, Holloway is a neighbourhood with a lot to offer. It has an abundance of streets packed with beautiful houses; a wealth of elegant Victorian homes that are perfect for young families looking for something more cost efficient that the neighbouring communities. In fact, in addition to families, the area seems to be attracting everyone from students at London Metropolitan University to young professionals wanting new build apartments – Holloway is a neighbourhood with a lot to offer.
In terms of green open space, Hampstead Heath with its 790 acres is just a mile away, and there is also, Finsbury Park, Highbury Fields, and Gillespie Park all within walking distance.
There’s no shortage of transport options; there are four underground stations in the Holloway area with services running on the Piccadilly line, Victoria line, and Northern Line. There is also a good choice of National Rail trains from Upper Holloway, offering fast transport links to central London.
